Nine year old Frank and eight year old Joe Hardy are the Clues Brothers – and treasure hunters! 😎 Pirates Ahoy! is a fun adventure mystery with some good-natured humor included! Who can resist a treasure map? Not the Hardys and Chet – and not me or my sib! 😀 I’m glad we went on the treasure hunt with the Hardys brothers and Chet. 🙂
On the cover you see Joe, Chet, and Frank intently studying a treasure map. The parrot on Joe’s shoulder is quite a character. It’s not Playback, but this parrot is also a smart-aleck one named Horatio Crackerblower. 😛 Horatio is the pet of Captain Sid, also quite a character. Captain Sid owns Captain Sid’s Treasure Cove, a sailing souvenir shop located near the Bayport Marina that the boys go to. 😎
As mentioned already, there’s some fun humor mixed in with the intriguing mystery. I like looking around the shop, although the dust threatened to make me sneeze a lot. Searching around is fun. Frank, Joe, and Chet are determined to find out if pirates ever stopped in Bayport, plus follow a map to treasure. 😎
So, do they find treasure? Gelt? Do they find proof that pirates were ever in Bayport? Does Chet keep his cookies when they try to go sailing?
