Hardy Boys Book Characters – Callie Shaw and Iola Morton

Now along with info on the Hardy family – Frank, Joe, Fenton, Laura, and Gertrude (aka Trudy) – I’ve posted details about Iola Morton and Callie Shaw. They’re the Hardy Boys’ girlfriends/true loves, and cool characters who’ve helped solve some really dangerous cases. 😎 Both Iola and Callie are smart, resourceful, brave, and vivacious – one of the words often used to describe each of them in The Hardy Boys books. It means lively and spirited, so it’s definitely a good thing to be vivacious. That and their other great qualities makes them excellent soul mate matches for the Hardy brothers. 🙂 Also fun to read about. And to write. 😎 The main characters are Frank and Joe, of course, and it’s good and important that there are additional great characters. Makes it more real. 😎

In addition to the Hardy family, Iola, along with her brother Chet, and Callie are the only other Hardy Boys book characters to be in the Papercutz graphic novels. 😎 Iola and Chet also have the cool distinction and honor to be in every book series with the Hardy Boys’ name in it along with the Hardy family. 😎 That’s trivia straight from the books. And coming soon to this blog: the start of The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew facts page. Be ready for interesting and intriguing facts and details from the books. 😎

Check out the Hardy Boys Book Characters to find out more. 🙂

  1. Thank you, Ann; I have been looking forward to reading more of your descriptions! 🙂 You always do such an excellent job of it. 🙂 😎 Callie

    • No problem, Callie! 🙂 Thanks! 🙂 I’d been wanting to for a while! 🙂 So glad you like the descriptions and that you, as a true Hardy Boys fan, approve. 🙂 😎

  2. Excellent write-up, Ann! 🙂 You definitely know your Hardy Boys book characters. 😎

Callie and Iola are great characters; I especially enjoy reading about when they help their respective boyfriends, Frank and Joe, solve the mysteries. 😎 Callie

    • Thank you so much, Callie! 🙂 That truly means a lot coming from you! 😎

They sure are! 🙂 Me, too! It’s very cool! 🙂 I’ve enjoyed a number of books with them in it and have more to read! 🙂

  3. Like I said before. I don’t like how some describes Callie. Mean. Trying to make Frank choose between her and Joe. Spoiled.
Never liked how they replaced Iola with Vanessa.
Iola and Callie are for always.

Brave, loyal, fighting for truth and law and order, supporting. The perfect choise for Frank and Joe

    With love Helena

    • There are a few fanfic writers who really like to put the fiction in fanfiction, as you mentioned in your post. 😉 They’d clearly like to ignore the books and change things. Callie’s definitely not mean or any of that and anyone who writes her like that is misrepresenting her character and contrary to the books. I think they must be jealous. And trying to create fake drama/angst instead of going for real stuff. Boring.
They can’t replace Iola with her, it’s impossible to actually do that, they don’t have the right or the facts to support that. 😎 Makes their fanfics unrealistic. I’m mean, in reality, THE Hardy Boys series ran alongside the Casefiles and surpassed it easily, it had more power and cool. 😎
Absolutely, Helena, you’re so right. 😎

  4. I love that there are good, true details from the books represented here. Iola and Callie are great characters. I love the books and appreciate the staying power of The Hardy Boys Mysteries right now in the 21st century. It’s Frank and Callie, Joe and Iola, for sure. 🙂 8)

I’m really looking forward to the trivia/facts from the books. I love to read stuff like that. Thanks! 🙂
